10 MLB player notes to get you ready for 2023 fantasy baseball draft season

Fantasy baseball analyst Dalton Del Don shares some key notes to know as we head into fantasy baseball draft season.

Ronald Acuna Jr. saw him power plummeted and his defense suffered during his return from MCL surgery last season. However, he made up for it by stealing the second most bases (29) in the NL despite playing fewer than 120 games. Acuna expects to be much healthier this season after game significant pain in 2022when he also experienced failure in HR/Brl%.

steamer design A modest 30/40 season in less than 150 games; Akunya is the #1 player on my board.

Triston Mackenzie posted a 31:1 K:BB ratio over his last four starts last year and is a Cy Young dark horse candidate in 2023. The tall righty is equally effective against lefties and should benefit from the new catcher Mike Zuninostrong protection/framing. Mackenzie is in the top 15 SP on my board, but he was picked around SP30 in Sportzshala’s early drafts.

• Lots of people calling Kyle Harrisongender healthy Chris Sale.

Seriously, Harrison is a baseball player. Best Prospect Lefty who is willing to contribute Better sooner than later. The Giants’ rotation looks deep on paper, but it’s not a strong enough group to hold back a prospect who, at 20, just hit 186 batters in 113.0 innings. Harrison won’t delve into gamesbut he will still be an important fantasy asset the moment San Francisco gives him a chance in the rotation.

• The White Sox have a roster filled with more bouncers than any other in recent memory. Louis Robert, Eloy Jimenez, Tim Anderson And Yoan Moncada all underperforming and missed over 50 games last season. Lucas Giolito also has one of the biggest differences between ERA and FIP and is another great fantasy target ready for a big bounce (without Tony LaRussa) in Chicago this season.

Aaron AshbyThe latest shoulder injury isn’t ideal for someone who bet the Brewers 20/1 to win the NL and just traded him to the dynasty league. However, I remain optimistic about Milwaukee, which will benefit from playing in the NL Central and have an incredibly busy pitching staff even without Ashby. But durability issues abound. And if Devin Williamsairbender causes further hand problems, Matt Bush sleeping to accumulate saves.

Nolan Jones was a dreamy sleeper after being traded to the Rockies even before Randal Grichukrecent hernia surgery. The Colorado roster has several spots open to competition, and Jones is a former second-round pick who hit 122 wRC+ in Triple-A last season. Much worse hitters did a lot of good to the imagination by playing half of their games in Colorado. Last season, Coors Field increased its left-handed batters average by 13% in Major League Baseball. It also increased MLB points by 46%; the next highest was 17% (while Petco Park decreased by 21%). Summon Jones before he stops sleeping.

• I’ll have more information in the Park Factors column next week, but the Blue Jays pitchers should probably be downgraded. new park sizes in toronto. Addendum Kevin Kiermeiera glove will help, but can have a real impact. Matt Chapman Maybe stumbled upon.

• HOT ATTENTION: Both Edward Cabrera And Jesus Luzardo produce more fantastic value than Sandy Alcantara in 2023. Braxton Garrett also a real dream book in Miami. If Trevor Rogers regains its shape, the Marlins rotation could be one of the best in baseball this year. And rip to Dylan Flowerfantastic value after Miami traded to AJ Tom.

• WITH Frankie Montaz Unfortunately shoulder surgery kit, sunday german And Clark Schmidt get Fantasy Enhancement. Schmidt is a former first-round pick who impressed last season, while Herman’s peripherals speak of real potential. Both should win if given the opportunity in the Yankees rotation. Meanwhile, healthy Michael King can threaten those who hope Clay Holmes closed for the entire season.

Andrew Painter only 19 years old, but already legal shot at the season opener in Philadelphia’s starting rotation. Best Pitching Prospect in baseball, artist added cutter in off-season after fanning 155 batters over 103.2 innings in the Minors last year.

Painter is also a great name for a pitcher and I will aggressively choose him accordingly.
