With a big lead over winning the 2022 President’s Cup, the Americans will look to get off to a fast start in fours on the first day. Captain Davis Love III chose the traditional route in his pairs with some common partners while international captain Trevor Immelman left. on a different path.

Patrick Cantley and Xander Schauffele headline Team USA in an attempt to spur fans on the first leg. The 2022 Zurich Classic winners put their 4-0-0 fours record on the line against Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama. Immelman will likely rely on this pair to move forward, and a Day 1 victory could give his entire team confidence.

Compatriots K. H. Lee and Tom Kim will play their first joint match for the Presidents Cup. In the third match, the two rookies face off against a pair of American rookies in Cameron Young and Collin Morikawa. Morikawa is the only player in this group with team experience as he made his debut at the 2021 Ryder Cup.

Good friends Sam Burns and Scotty Sheffler will clean up after the Americans. Together they took seven wins in the 2021–22 season and faced the fickle Si Woo Kim and Cameron Davis. This is a match that can be finished after 12 holes or go the whole distance – nothing in between.

Lifting the galley are two of the cutest players on the tour, Tony Finau and Max Homa. With three wins together since the end of July, it’s a strong US partnership, and in the final match of Day One, Billy Horschel and Kevin Kisner will go up against international rookie pair Mito Pereira and Taylor Pendrit. Thursday, as are Christian Bezuidenhout and Sebastian Muñoz for internationals.

Forces have been the format historically favored by Team USA. Since 2007, in these particular sessions, he has a 30-point advantage over the international team. If the underdogs are looking to stay early and remain competitive, they will need to hold the serve on Day 1 and put their flag on the board at least twice.
