Just one week separates golfers from the end of the game calendar as members travel to Sea Island, Georgia for the 2022 RSM Classic. Before PGA Tour members can solidify their vacation plans and take a well-deserved vacation, they’ll have one last chance to collect their equipment.

World No. 12 Tony Finau was originally supposed to lead the field after a dominant performance at the Houston Open. Forced to withdraw on Tuesday afternoon due to injury, the field has officially gone wide open. Instead, several players will be looking to sprint into the off-season thanks to strong performances at the RSM Classic, including eight major championship winners like Jason Day and Justin Rose.

While the pair didn’t achieve Finau’s success in Houston, the two former World No.’s have had superb results this season. Each of them has an impressive resume, other players hoping to move in this direction are Denny McCarthy, Taylor Montgomery and Matthew NeSmith, all of whom are still in search of their first PGA Tour wins.

Keith Mitchell, Brian Harman, Harris English and a host of Sea Islanders will be joining them at the RSM Classic. With only 72 holes left before the end of the competitive year, players are looking to put it all on the line this week on the Atlantic coast.

RSM Classic 2022 field, odds

  • Brian Harman (16-1): Harman is one of the many members of the Sea Island Mafia, and he probably plays the best of them. After a runner-up performance at Mayakoba, Harman returns home for his 11th RSM Classic performance. In addition to his close call in Mexico, Harman added T23 results at the CJ Cup in South Carolina and T15 results at the Shriners Children’s Open. The 35-year-old has not won a win since 2017, but given his current form and familiarity with real estate, this should be a better chance than ever.
  • Seamus Power (20-1): The Irishman was Talor Gooch’s closest competitor for much of last year’s tournament before finishing in T4. Power comes in fantastic form this time around and his last two tournaments are WIN, T3. His iron game has been surprisingly weak in his five starts this season, but if his goalscoring clubs can cooperate, he should have a chance on Sunday.
  • Jason Day (22-1): Day continues to impress as he starts the 2022-23 season as he added another quality finish at the Houston Open last week in the form of a T16 finish. Hitting the ball is still his forte, and his short play is beginning to resemble that of seven years ago, when Day was the undisputed best player in the world.
  • Tom Hoge (25-1): The missed shot at Mayakoba may have come as a surprise, but Hoge should enjoy a good normal moment at Sea Island. Having played in this tournament for the past eight years, Hoge came closest to this season back when he finished in T4. This year he ranks among the top players in the field, finishing in the top 15 at the South Carolina CJ Cup, the Zozo Championship, the Shearners Kids Open Championship and the Fortinet Championship.
  • Taylor Montgomery (30-1)
  • Denny McCarthy (30-1)
  • Joel Damen (30-1)
  • Keith Mitchell (35-1): RSM Classic has been unkind to Sea Islanders in the past, but Mitchell appears eager to change that. The Bomber had his best performance of the season at the Houston Open where he finished in the top 10 on the leaderboard. One of the best golf ball drivers in the world, other aspects of his game will be tested on the Plantation and Seaside courses. He has joined the top 15 in two of his last three RSM Classics as he continues to feel more comfortable playing at home.
  • Mackenzie Hughes (35-1)
  • Sahit Tigala (35-1)
  • Matthew NeSmith (35-1)
