Slovenian Tadej Pogacar offers to join Chris Froome as a three-time Tour de France champion in the last 27 years (not counting the stripped Lance Armstong).

In 2020, Pogacar, at the age of 21, became the second youngest winner in racing history after Henri Cornet in 1904 and became the first person in over 60 years to pedal for the first time in the yellow jersey on the last day of the Tour.

In 2021, Pogacar was more dominant, taking the lead in stage eight and holding it until the end of the Tour. He won by 5 minutes and 20 seconds, the biggest margin since 2014.

Again, Team Jumbo-Visma should be the biggest threat. It may be in the form of a fellow Slovenian Primoz Rogliciwho was second in the 2020 Tour, or the Dane Jonas Wingegaardwho was second at the 2021 Tour.

The two faces of the last rounds will be missing. Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Left Sprinter Mark Cavendish out of the team, so he will miss the chance to break the tie with Eddy Merckx for the most career stage wins (34).

The dapper Frenchman also did not get into the team. Julian Alaphilippewho is still recovering from serious injuries sustained in the April crash.

Champions of the last round Geraint Thomas and Frum is also in the field.
