The US men’s team starts their 11th World Cup match against Wales in Al Rayyan, Qatar. The US and Wales are in Group B along with England and Iran.
In their last two matches at the World Championships, the USA reached the 1/8 finals. However, a group that includes several UEFA teams may not bode well for the US. USMNT has only won three of its 21 World Cup matches against European opponents.
This did not shake the confidence of USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter.
“What I really believe in is that on our best day, we can beat anyone in the world,” he told Sportzshala’s Sam Borden. “Anyone.”
Whatever the result, the youth will be ahead. Defenseman DeAndre Yedlin is the only World Cup veteran since the right-back made his World Cup debut at the age of 20 in 2014. 52), Jordan Morris (49) and Tim Rome (46).
Yet Yedlin’s experience is more than the Welsh can match. Wales will compete in the World Cup for the first time in 64 years. However, Wales have Gareth Bale, whose illustrious professional career includes five UEFA Champions League titles and three UEFA Super Cups with Real Madrid.
Here are the highlights of the USMNT vs. Wales in Group B:

fans in power
Infrequent attendance is becoming more of a problem at the World Cup, with some fans having trouble even accessing stadiums. But supporters of both these sides make themselves felt.
The eagle landed (with the help of Wonder Woman) in Qatar.
Amazing scenes as Welsh fans in the stands sang an exhilarating rendition of their national anthem.
Along with Tyler Adams, the youngest USMNT World Cup captain, we have the youngest team roster in the tournament, averaging just over 25 years. Yunus Musa, who played for England under-21s before moving to the US, is the youngest at 19.
The oldest in the squad? Tim Rome, who is 35 years old, has not played for the USA for over a year. The Fulham defender will be a permanent veteran on the home front. DeAndre Yedlin, 29, is the only person from the 2014 team.
Lineups are over!
Missing starting XI for USMNT. – for the first time since the defeat from Belgium at the 2014 World Cup in the 1/8 finals. Since then, USMNT has seen so many new faces and exciting new talent led by Christian Pulisic.
Tyler Adams wears the USMNT captain’s armband (the youngest ever to wear it at the World Championships at 23). An unexpected start for Joshua Sargent as a striker and we’ll see what contribution Weston McKenny and Sergino Dest can make as they were hampered by injuries.

If you think it’s been a while since the USMNT played in the World Cup, Wales hasn’t been on a big show since 1958. There are a few star playmakers to keep an eye on, obviously starting with captain Gareth Bale. Also worth noting are Daniel James and Aaron Ramsey, both of whom have a lot of gaming experience.
