2023 Masters odds, picks, predictions: Tiger Woods projection from same golf model that nailed Scheffler’s win
In 1995, Ben Crenshaw made Masters history by going 11 years between wins at the Augusta National Golf Club. The gap between big wins is one of the longest in golf history, but it’s especially unique as both wins came at the Masters. Tiger Woods is nearly 11 years between big wins in 2008 and 2019 when he won the US Open and the Masters, but can he challenge the Augusta victory at the 2023 Masters even though he has a 55-1 long-range shot in chances of Masters 2023. at Caesars betting shop?
The 2023 Masters are set to feature three past winners who will all be looking for their third green jacket, the latest being Bubba Watson (100-1), who last won in 2014. ) and John Rahm (7-1) will be aiming for their first career Masters win. Before fixing your choice for the Masters 2023, be sure to View golf predictions and a projected leaderboard based on a validated computer model on SportsLine..
SportsLine’s own model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been at the peak of popularity since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, since the relaunch, the model has grown over $8,400 at the best rates, winning tournament after tournament.
McClure’s model predicted John Rahm to top the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express leaderboard. The model also included JT Poston in their best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet went up to +5500 and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned almost $1100. At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s model was all over the place, with Scotty Sheffler’s first career major championship win ahead of the weekend.
Also, McClure’s best bets included winning Collin Morikawa at the 2021 Open Championship, though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long-range striker. Model was also in all of Rahm’s (10-1) first major career win at the 2021 US Open. Before the weekend, Ram was two points behind the leader, but the model still considered him the winner.
The same model also scored a whopping eight majors over the weekend. Anyone who followed him saw tremendous results.
Now that the 2023 Masters field is taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results are surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the predicted leaderboard..
Best Predictions for Masters 2023
One of the big surprises the model is calling for at the 2023 Masters: Jordan Spieth, a three-time world champion and one of the big favorites, is struggling hard at the Augusta National and didn’t even make it into the top 25. 2015 Masters champion Spit finished in the top 3 in four of his first five Masters appearances. But in his last four starts, he has only made the top 20 once and missed out in 2022.
Spit had a volatile season, with more finishes outside the top 50 (four) than in it (three). His usually reliable stick let him down, as after placing in the top 10 in scoring seven times in his career, Spit slipped to 80th this year. His off-target accuracy has dropped even further as he ranks 174th on the tour in driving accuracy percentage. Spit has yet to find his rhythm this season, which is why the model avoids him in the Masters 2023 betting strategy.
The model also showed where Tiger would finish at the 2023 Masters. At this point in his career, Woods has little motivation other than winning major tournaments, especially the Masters. This year, he tested competitive waters for the first time at the Genesis Invitational in February, where he placed 45th.
His place on the leaderboard wasn’t as important as his ability to compete for four rounds, which he showed he could handle even if it was exhausting at times. Woods decided to skip the Players Championship, but at Genesis he showed that his game’s signature elements were better than they were this time last year. At the Genesis, he outclassed the fielding average by 7.5 yards, which is a positive sign considering his game is still being visibly affected by leg injuries he suffered in a 2021 car accident.
