2023 Masters picks, odds, field: Surprising PGA predictions from dialed-in golf model that nailed eight majors

Mike Weir is the only Canadian golfer to ever win a greenjacket at the Masters, but Corey Conners will try to change that this year when he hits the opener at the Augusta National on Thursday, April 6th. The 31-year-old is 55-1 to win at the latest Caesars Sportsbook Masters 2023 odds, which is a value given his recent history in a major tournament. Conners has finished in the top 10 at the Masters for the past three years, but his form in recent PGA tournaments hasn’t been as encouraging.

Conners has finished 50th and 61st in his last two starts overall, but can he find his rhythm ahead of the 2023 Masters? If the Conners can’t figure out what’s up, other 2023 Masters contenders like Scotty Sheffler (10-1), Rory McIlroy (8-1) and John Rahm (7-1) will be chasing the title. Before fixing your choice for the Masters 2023, be sure to see Masters 2023 predictions and projected leaderboard based on a verified computer model on SportsLine..

SportsLine’s own model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been at the peak of popularity since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, since the relaunch, the model has grown over $8,600 at the best rates, winning tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model predicted Ram would top the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express leaderboard. The model also included JT Poston in their best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet went up to +5500 and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned almost $1100. At last year’s Masters, model McClure took Scheffler’s first career major championship win ahead of the weekend.

Also, McClure’s best bets included winning Collin Morikawa at the 2021 Open Championship, though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long-range striker. Model was also in all of Rahm’s (10-1) first major career win at the 2021 US Open. Before the weekend, Ram was two points behind the leader, but the model still considered him the winner.

The same model also scored a whopping eight majors over the weekend. Anyone who followed him saw tremendous results.

Now that the 2023 Masters field is taking shape, SportsLine has simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results are surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the predicted leaderboard..

Best Predictions for Masters 2023

One of the big surprises the model is calling for at the 2023 Masters: Cameron Smith, a six-time PGA Tour champion and one of the big favorites at the 2023 Masters, stumbles and doesn’t even break into the top 10. Smith is the reigning Open champion and qualified for the tournament in Australia late last year but has been having a hard time ever since. He finished 47th in his final 2022 competition before missing out on cuts in his first 2023 competition, the only competitive golf he has played in the past three months.

Despite Smith’s success on the PGA Tour last season, it wasn’t his best year in terms of numbers, which could indicate he was lucky. He missed out on the top 100 in terms of driving range and driving accuracy percentage, while finishing just 136th on the tour in all-important tee shots (-0.125). Because of this struggle, and with a single miss to feature his 2023 events, the model avoids Smith with his current 2023 Masters odds.

Another surprise: Tony Finau, a 20-1 striker, is on his way to the title. He has a much better chance of winning than his odds suggest, which is why he is a target for anyone looking for huge money. His worst finish this season was still better than most of his peers, 20th at the Genesis Invitational.

Finau performed well overall at the Masters, although he posted his second-worst finish at last year’s Augusta National when he tied for 35th. In his other four Masters appearances, he finished in the top five and two times in the top ten. Finau’s approach play has been the most consistent part of his game this season as he ranks seventh of all golfers and posted a 1.15 average at the 2021 Masters when he finished in 10th place. How to choose Masters 2023

The model also targets four other golfers with odds of 20-1 or higher who make surprise runs while wearing a green jacket. Anyone who supports these long-term plans can achieve great things. Here you can only see the PGA model selection..
