George Pickens, one of Georgia’s top-scoring wide receivers in three years, was drafted by the Steelers this spring with the 52nd overall pick. Pickens caught 90 passes for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career with the Bulldogs.
“In his final draft before leaving the Steelers as general manager, Kevin Colbert once again picked up a profitable wide receiver in the second round. pickens it already impressive, showing off their skills during the OTA. Expect whoever becomes a Pittsburgh quarterback to regularly rely on his speed and strong hands to make big plays down the field.”

The Bills got one of the most versatile running backs the UGA has ever seen when they took James Cook with 63rd overall. Whether it’s in the back of the field or on the street, Cook can find a way to influence the game. Brother of the running back Minnesota Vikings, Cook had his best season during the championship. Cook gained over 2,200 scrimmage yards and 20 total touchdowns in four years at Athens.
Buffalo selected the running back in the third round of the 2019 and 2020 drafts (Devin Singletery’19; Zach Moss, ’20), but I thought they would show interest in Cook at the end of the second round this year because of his universal value. Expect Cook to get close to 1,500 yards from scrimmage in 2022, picking up passes when he doesn’t catch the ball out of bounds or out of the slot. “
Auburn Tigers quarterback Beau Nicks (10) is fired by the Georgia Bulldogs inside linebacker Quay Walker (7) at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
The Packers selected Quay Walker with their first pick in the draft, 22nd overall, in a surprise move. While Walker may not have been the first linebacker to be picked up, his talent and athletic ability is undeniable. Walker was one of the best players in the NFL combine. Walker recorded 137 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and 3 pass gaps in four seasons in Athens.
