Seeking an opportunity to fill two open spots in the roster after injuries sustained by a wide receiver Tim Patrick and running back Damaria CrockettOn Wednesday, the Denver Broncos invited seven players to tryout.
The Broncos brought in three runners: Max Borghi, Jaquan Hardy as well as Jaylen Samuels. Hardy is a sophomore who played for the Dallas Cowboys last year. Samuels is a fourth-year quarterback who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2018 to 2021. Borghi is a college free agent from Washington State.
Borghi won the trial of RB and signed with the team on Wednesday. This leaves Denver with one spot left on the 90-man roster for the offseason.
The Broncos also brought three wide receivers: Jonathan Adams, Assistant Crawford as well as Darrius Shepherd. At the time of this writing, none of the recipients have signed up. Shepard has spent time with six NFL teams since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019.
Finally, Denver also tried out the quarterback: Kay Jay Costellowho went to training camp with the Los Angeles Chargers as a rookie last summer and spent time with the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL this spring.
