A great trio of Thanksgiving games is looming

John Madden’s first annual Thanksgiving celebration will be unforgettable in many ways.

For the first time since the NFL expanded the Thanksgiving roster to include a primetime game in 2006, this is the best trio of Turkey Day competitions the league has ever featured.

It doesn’t look like that will be the case when the game schedule comes out. But the Bills-Lions, Giants-Cowboys and Patriots-Vikings feel very different after 11 weeks of the season.

Currently, five of the six teams that will play Thursday are in the top 10 of the PFT strength rankings. The other team, the Lions, have won three games in a row – and they seem capable of taking on Billy.

So given the captivated audience and great games, the NFL could have ridiculously high ratings for three games played in just two days.
