The fallout from Kanye West’s repeated and unrepentant anti-Semitic comments continues.
Rams protective gear Aaron Donald announced that he had parted ways with West’s Donda Sports. In May, Donald signed with Donda Sports for marketing purposes.
“Our family has decided to leave with Donda Sports,” Donald and his wife Erica said in a statement released Tuesday. “Recent comments and manifestations of hatred and anti-Semitism are in direct opposition to how we choose our lives and raise our children. We believe they are irresponsible and go against everything we believe in as a family.
“As parents and members of society, we felt compelled to send a clear message that hateful words and actions have consequences and that we must do better as human beings. We do not feel that our beliefs, voices and actions belong to a space that distorts and oppresses people of any background, ethnicity or race.
“We have had the pleasure of working with many wonderful people along the way and look forward to continuing to use our platform to support other families, children and communities through positive work.”
Adidas and Gap recently cut ties with West after a string of overtly anti-Semitic comments. It’s hard for anyone doing business with West to distance himself from his persistently stubborn attitude and behavior.
