The Alabama Basketball team is working to complete the non-conference schedule for the 2022-2023 season. Wednesday College Hoops Analyst Rocco Miller reported that Crimson Tide had added the Longwood Lancers as a non-conference opponent for the upcoming season. The game will be the opening of the season for each team and will take place at the Coleman Coliseum. Longwood competes in the Big South Conference and made his first NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
Main coach Nate Oates and his team will be busy to start the schedule without conferences. They are slated to play on the back end of a home series with Gonzaga, Houston and Memphis. The crimson tide will also collide with Michigan at the Phil Knight Invitational in November. They would also have the potential to face UConn or Oregon in the second game. Along with these games, they will also have to go to Norman to meet Oklahoma in the end of January.
Of course, it will be interesting to see how the young team from Alabama can get close to some top-level rivals at the start of the season. Expectations are high, but this season will be far from easy. Coach Oates will be counting on the likes of Brandon Miller, Charles Bediaco and Darius Miles to lead the team through the conference.
