The Alabama football team completed their first practice session at fall 2022 camp earlier Thursday. As is the case with every autumn training camp, the head coach Nick Saban it took several minutes after practice to address the media.
Coach Saban cleared up some rumors on the Alabama star’s tight end bulletin board Cameron Side did get some sort of injury and will be “missing some time” during the fall camp.
Saban didn’t go into details of Latu’s injury, but spoke about the opportunities some of the younger players in the position will now have.
Alabama is very young after Latu, with one sophomore and three freshmen on scholarships.
Here is Coach Saban’s full commentary on Latu’s injury and its impact on the team.
“Cam will miss some time at camp. I don’t know exactly how long, but it’s a possibility. I think we have three freshmen, young guys who have the opportunity to develop. So that will give them a lot of reps and a lot of opportunities in the camp. This is a position where we definitely need to develop some depth and this will give us a good opportunity to do so.”
