Another day, another De’Aaron Fox game-winner, this time to beat Bulls Watch Desmond Bane get ejected for shot to Kevin Love’s groin Warriors Andre Iguodala to undergo surgery for fractured left wrist Morant suspended eight games by NBA for ‘irresponsible’ and ‘reckless’ gun incident Kings’ Lyles suspended one game, Bucks’ Lopez fined for altercation

A couple of awards at the end of the season have already been played (or close to it). Paolo Bankero going to win Rookie of the Year. Mike Brown is starting to move away from the pack for Coach of the Year.

AND De’Aaron Fox will be the first recipient of the Clutch Player of the Year award. If anyone had any doubts, he sealed them with another winner of Wednesday’s game, this time beating the Bulls with 0.7 seconds left.

Fox leads the NBA in total clutch points—within five points in the last five minutes of the game—with 180. Runner-up is a tie between the Bulls. DeMar DeRozan and heat Jimmy Butler p. 138. It’s not close.

With the exception of DeRozan, the Bulls haven’t had a clutch this season – they’re 12-23 in clutch games. As noted by K.C. Johnson on NBC Sports ChicagoThe Bulls have lost six games this season, leading by 16 points or more. DeRozan led the Bulls with 33 points.

Fox led the Kings with 32 points Malik Monk was 19 off the bench and Domantas Sabonis he has a triple-double: 14 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. With the victory, the Kings finished second in the West with the Grizzlies (who lost to the Heat).

It was a tough night for the Grizzlies’ leading defense (and for the Grizzlies in general). Heat Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo And Tyler Herro got their way and scored a combined 73 points on 25 of 40 shots (62.5%) as Miami kicked the doors out of Memphis for an easy win.

Maybe it was out of frustration Desmond Bain used his free hand on the disc to shoot at Kevin Love“groin”. Whatever the reason, he did it and was exiled for it.

I get a bailout, it’s not a natural basketball action or movement. This looks deliberate. Bain could get a league fine for it.

Earlier in the day, the NBA announced that the Memphis guard I am Morant was suspended for eight games after flashing a gun at the club and broadcasting it on social media. It was a retroactive suspension that includes six games (including this one) he missed, although he is expected to miss the first game he can return to (Monday against Dallas) as he returns to form. Memphis needs Ja Morant’s pick if they’re going to hold onto second place in the West and make the playoffs.

The Grizzlies also need to get their focus back as a team, and some of that shouldn’t be removed for stupid fouls.

Worries about the Golden State Warriors only intensified.

Andre Iguodala — who is back in the Warriors’ rotation for five games and is averaging about 14 minutes a night during that stretch — will have surgery next week to repair a broken left wrist, the team announced on Wednesday. They haven’t announced a timetable for his return, but with just over three weeks left in the season, it’s hard to be optimistic about Iguodala’s return.

Iguodala injured his wrist during a hard fall in the third quarter against the Suns.

Iguodala missed the first 39 games of the season with a hip injury and has only played eight games this season. In addition to the depth of the wing, it provides a professional, veteran voice in the locker room.

Iguodala came off the bench Draymond GreenKerr will have to come up with a few new rotations as the Warriors battle for a place in the top six in the West (which means they need to start winning a few road games).

Calling him displaying weapons at the club and broadcasting it on social media as “irresponsible” and “reckless”, the NBA announced the suspension. I am Morant for eight games without pay.

This came after Morant met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver to discuss his actions, the league’s investigation, and his punishment.

“Ja’s behavior was irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous,” Silver said in a statement announcing the suspension. “It also has major implications given his huge following and influence, especially among the younger fans who look up to him. He expressed sincere remorse and remorse for his behavior. Jah also made it clear to me that he learned from this incident and that he understands his obligations and responsibilities to the Memphis Grizzlies and the wider NBA community that go well beyond his game on the court.”

The eight-game suspension is retroactive and includes five games he has already missed, a game against the Heat on Wednesday night and two more over the weekend (with the Spurs, then the Warriors). Morant could return to the club on Monday when they play Dallas, but he hasn’t played during counseling in Florida and will probably miss some more time to start playing again. reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The suspension will cost Morant $668,659. Bobby Marks of ESPN reports. Morant ran into other financial problems due to the incident – the Powerade pulled an ad they planned to run during March Madness – and that could affect whether he gets into the All-NBA, which would give him a supermax under the Rose rule.

Although the league suspended Morant for his actions, the investigation concluded that it was not his gun. From the league announcement:

“Based on information obtained during the course of the investigation, the league did not conclude that the weapon in question belonged to Morant, was brought by him to a nightclub, or was displayed to him within a short period of time. The investigation also did not establish that Morant was in possession of a gun while traveling with the team or at any NBA facility, and Colorado authorities did not find sufficient evidence to charge Morant with a crime.”

The league hasn’t released any details about the guns, however Colorado is an open-carry state (no permit required) and it’s certainly possible – if unlikely – no laws have been broken.

According to reports, Morant signed up for a consultation in Florida, but is now gone.
