Arturas Karnisovas on the Bulls: ‘We have to do better than last year’

Bulls of Chicago ready for the 2022-23 season.

The Bulls brought back 12 players from last year’s roster, including their backbone. Last season, Chicago finished in sixth place before losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.

Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas opened the media day by saying the Bulls should improve from injury in the 2021-22 season.

“We want to see improvements. Once you make the playoffs and have a healthy body, I think a lot can happen. We must work better than last year,” said Karnisovas.

Last season, the Bulls quickly hit the ground running to start the year by holding the top spot for much of the first third of the season before injuries. Lonzo BallAlex Caruso and Zach LaVine interfered with their other half.

Head coach Billy Donovan agrees with Karnisovas as the Eastern Conference is much better than last season.

“This year will be much harder than last year, simply because the East is better. And there are still many challenges ahead of us… it will be much more difficult and we will have to put in more effort to take the next step.”
