Auburn linebacker Owen Pappoe accepts invite to senior bowl

Another Auburn player will make it to the senior bowl.

This time it’s senior midfielder Owen Pappo. Pappoe is already a semi-finalist for the 2022 Butkus Award for the best midfielder in the country, so the honor to showcase his skills at the senior cup is a well-deserved one.

So far this season, Pappo has amassed 43 single tackles, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Pappoe has been a big contributor to an increasingly resilient defense lately, with the Tigers recently stopping a Western Kentucky airstrike with just 17 points on the day in a victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Pappoe is the second tiger to accept an invitation to the Senior Bowl after Eku Leota. accepted it earlier this month. All five of Auburn’s candidates are quarterbacks – Derick Hall, Nehemiah Pritchett and DJ James have also received invitations but have yet to accept them.

The Senior Bowl will be held in Mobile, Alabama on February 4th.
