One of Auburn’s midfielders is heading somewhere else.

Louisiana linebacker Jayden Osberry, who named Auburn to his last seven teams, entered the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Thursday. Osberry’s addition only adds to the No. 2 star recruiting class that the Fighting Irish were building, and his neglect of the Tigers leaves Auburn’s 2023 class still underpowered.

Osberry officially visited the Tigers on June 3, and 247Sports warmed him up with a recruiting effort undertaken by Auburn coach Christian Robinson. Osberry’s brother Austin traveled to Auburn for the class of 2022, so many Auburn fans hoped Jayden would follow in his brother’s footsteps and come to the Plains.

However, that was not to be, and the Tigers will still hold onto their 63rd recruiting rating for 2023. This is currently the lowest recruiting ranking of the entire SEC – even Vanderbilt is ranked 52nd – so Brian Hars and his team will have to do some more work to improve the future of the team in the coming weeks and months.
