After taking a 5–2 lead in the second set, Bautista Agut failed to play a match twice, dropping three match points along the way before converting the first match point on a tiebreak.

“It was a really hard end,” said Batista Agut.

He will be seeking his 11th ATP title and his second this year. This is his first clay final since 2018 in Gstaad.

In the final, Bautista Agut will play either German Yannick Hanfmann, who eliminated local hot favorite Dominik Thiem in the quarter-finals, or Austrian Filip Misolic.

Their semi-final match was abandoned due to rain, with Mizolić leading 1-0 in the decisive tie-break in the third set after they had split 6-2 in the previous two sets.

Mizolic had previously won his postponed quarter-final match against Dusan Lajovic 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-3.
