Bengals expect Drew Sample to miss a couple weeks with knee injury

The Bengalis will have a hard time in the next stretch of training camp.

Drew Sample was taken off the field during practice on Thursday after injuring his knee, but he escaped serious injury. Head coach Zach Taylor told reporters that Sample would be out for weeks, not months, due to the injury.

“Probably will few weeks with him. He probably dodged a pretty big bullet there,” Taylor said via SI.com’s James Rapien. “Just turned around. It is hard to see on the film, it is difficult for him to remember exactly how it happened. We’ll just give it a little rest and see how it goes.”

Sample had 11 catches for 81 yards when he appeared in every game last season. During the 2020 campaign, he posted 40 catches.

Hayden Hurst, Mitchell Wilcox, Scotty Washington, Justin Rigg, Thaddeus Mossas well as Nick Eubanks other tight ends in Cincinnati.
