The Chiefs and Bengals will face off Sunday in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game, and two of the NFL’s top quarterbacks will also face off. Wide receiver Bengals Tyler Boyd thinks the quarterback matchup makes this game something really special.
Boyd compared Barrow and Mahomes to Peyton Manning and Tom Bradywho has met 12 times in the regular season and five times in the AFC playoffs.
“It all comes back to that quarterback fight. I look at it like Manning and Brady,” Boyd said via Bengals.com. “You cannot stop them. It comes down to who does well and uses their drive capabilities and scores. These are games where we have to take care of football and not turn it around.”
Burrow and Mahomes will meet on Sunday for only the third time, so they still have many years ahead of them before their rivalry equals that of Manning and Brady. Barrow, 25, and Mahomes, 27, both play for the top two teams in the AFC, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they have many big games to play in the next decade.
