Bill Belichick raves about Lions’ special teams, calls Jack Fox the best punter in the NFL

Patriots coach Bill Belichick appreciates good special teams and thinks he’ll face one of the best on Sunday against the Lions.

Belichick singled out Lviv player Jack Foxcalling him the best in the NFL and even calling him a fake punt threat, as he did last week when he won the first down against the Seahawks.

Fox is the best player in the league. He’s outstanding,” Belichick said. “Fox is a weapon. Kickoff, punt, accuracy punt, distance punt. Throwed there like a quarterback – it was a long shot, 15 yards deep, good coverage, he hit right there.

Belichick also singled out the Lions linebacker. Chris Board for his special teams game.

“Board is the best special team player we will be playing against all year. He’s a great player,” Belichick said. “They have good speed, good size in foot play, good specialists. They’re working on the kicking situation, but they have some really great players in those divisions. . . . It will be a big problem for us in the kicking game.”
