The Boston Marathon will air on Sportzshala starting with the 2023 race, the Boston Athletic Association announced Wednesday.

Sportzshala will begin a multi-year deal starting with the 127th Boston Marathon on April 17, with coverage of the race on SportsCenter and other shows and platforms. Along with adding Sportzshala as the national broadcaster, local coverage in Boston will be provided by ABC affiliate WCVB Channel 5, according to the BAA.

The 2022 Boston Marathon was the first traditional Patriots Day in three years after the 2020 race was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and the 2021 race was postponed until October of that year.

The 2023 Boston Marathon is expected to feature 30,000 runners, which will also mark the 10th anniversary of the marathon bombing that killed three people and injured hundreds. BAA plans to celebrate the anniversary of the race next year.

Sportzshala previously aired the marathon in the early 1980s and from 1997 to 2004. The network has also broadcast the New York City Marathon since 2013.
