BREAKING: 4-star EDGE just flipped from UCF to Florida

The Florida Gators have been given a new name in the 2023 recruiting rankings. Four star extreme rusher Isaiah Nixon announced his commitment to “orange and blue” on social media on Tuesday afternoon, just a day after he pulled out of UCF.

The Knights earned his pledge in April and received him for an official visit in early June, but Nixon’s trip to Gainesville went better than expected and he left town feeling like an alligator. After he cleared his Instagram account of any association with UCF, his profile was left with a single post with photos from his visit to UF and a caption that ended with “this is not a knight”.

Nixon edited the headline to focus solely on the Gators, but the message was clear: Billy Napier defeated Gus Malzan. Now that the news is official, the Lakewood, St. Petersburg rookie can boast of being the best rookie among Florida’s young players in 2023. He ranked 169th overall and 23rd best player in the On3 Consensus.

At 6’4″ and 225 pounds, Nixon is the right size to make it to the Southeast Conference. The plan is for him to play off linebacker and rush to the quarterback on the third down. Alligators online.

Nixon’s engagement was No. 7 in Napier’s first real recruitment class in Florida. Tommy Kinsler also recently entered, bringing the Gators to 5th in the SEC and 39th overall in their class.
