Britain’s Ethan Hayter won the Tour of Poland on Friday after the seventh and final round, which was claimed by Arnaud Demar of France.
Hayter, 23, of Ineos Grenadiers, took the yellow jersey at the penultimate stage on Thursday.
For Groupama-FDJ’s Desmarais, it was his fifth stage win this season, a record that includes three Giro d’Italia victories.
On Friday, he won the sprint in Krakow ahead of Dutchman Olav Koja and Phil Bauhaus of Germany.
Hayter, a two-time national time trial champion, finished safely in the peloton and won the overall standings by 11 seconds over Theimen Ahrensman of the Netherlands.
Spaniard Pello Bilbao finished third in the standings, 18 seconds behind the British.
