Star linebacker Miles Garrett was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries The Cleveland Browns confirmed that he was involved in a one-car rollover accident after practice.
The team did not initially provide further information on Garrett’s status.
“Miles Garrett was involved in a car accident this afternoon after leaving the training facility,” the Browns said in a statement. “He sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to a local hospital, and we are collecting additional information.”
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Garrett has been released from the hospital. on Monday evening, but he will have to undergo additional tests in the near future.
Agent: Garrett is “attentive and responsive”
Garrett’s agent Nicole Lynn released a statement Monday night confirming the crash.
“While we wait to learn about the extent of his injuries, he was alert and responsive,” the statement said. “The Garrett family would like to thank the medical staff who pulled Miles and his passenger out of the car and transported them safely to the hospital.”
News 5 Camryn Justice of Cleveland Reported that Garrett crashed his Porsche around 3:00 pm ET while driving home from practice. Citing Ohio State Highway Patrol officials, Justice said the vehicle veered off the right side of the road and rolled over several times before coming to a stop. According to preliminary data, there was a female passenger in the car.
According to the report, both Garrett and his passenger were wearing seat belts. They were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash was initially unclear, but Pelissero reported that Garret swerved to avoid hitting the animal. on wet roads and “overcorrected”, leading to a rollover. According to OSHP, neither drugs nor alcohol played a role. Traffic is expected to be paid.
