On Thursday, the Boston Bruins signed superstar David Pastrnak to an eight-year, $90 million ($11.25 million AAV) contract extension.
Pastrnak leads the Bruins in scoring with 42 goals and 80 points in 60 games, and is fourth in scoring behind Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Nikita Kucherov. The 26-year-old also leads the team in powerplay goals (14) and powerplay points (29), averaging 19:48 on the ice per game.
Pastrnak played all nine seasons of his NHL career with the Bruins after being selected 25th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. In 570 career NHL games, the Czech native Gavirov scored 282 goals and 302 assists, as well as 247 penalty minutes.
Pastrnak is close to breaking his career high with 48 goals in a season, earning him the Rocket Richard trophy in 2019/20, and breaking the 50-goal mark for the first time in his career.
The winger has a six-year, $40 million ($6.666 million AAV) contract expiring and is considered one of the biggest deals in the NHL over the past few seasons.
