The Buccaneers plan to practice at their stadium in Tampa this week and host the Chiefs next Sunday, but they may have to make other plans.
Hurricane Yan is moving towards the west coast of Florida and is expected to make landfall at some point this week. There’s a chance it could happen in or near Tampa, and it’s prompted the Bucks and the NFL to start discussing contingency plans for the week. These plans may include moving the team to another city to practice and/or play the Week 4 game.
“Now we still following thingsbut we’re working with the league and hopefully we’ll make a decision later on what we’re going to do,” Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Monday via Rick Stroud of Tampa Bay Times.
The Bucs and Dolphins game in the first week of 2017 was rescheduled for the end of the season due to the impending hurricane in Miami.
