Texans run back Darius Anderson The district attorney announced today that he is no longer facing criminal charges in Houston.
Anderson was cleared of burglary charges today. The prosecutor’s office said there was not enough evidence to open a criminal case.
Texans coach Lovi Smith said Anderson was adamant that he didn’t do what he was accused of, and the Texans waited for the case to be heard before making any decisions.
“Of course, when it happened initially, I contacted him and he told me that the charges should be dropped because it didn’t happen. Usually, when something like this happens, we let it play out in the system. I’m glad he came to that conclusion,” Smith said this morning.
Anderson signed with the Texans’ training team last year and spent the entire offseason with them. He also spent time with the Cowboys and Colts, but never played in a regular season game.
