Boxing star Canelo Alvarez will appear in Creed III, director and starring Michael B. Jordan announced Thursday. Although he has participated in many big fights, this is the first time Alvarez will appear on the big screen as an actor.
“He directs the legend @Canelo in Creed III. Can’t wait for the world to see it on March 3rd,” Jordan wrote in an Instagram story Thursday night. “A star in and out of the ring… welcome to the family. Good luck this weekend!”
The film will be released in theaters on March 3, 2023, marking Jordan’s directorial debut. At the moment, there are not many details about what character Alvarez will play or how big his role will be, but this is not the first time Credo series – continuation rocky franchise – featuring well-known boxers. Some of the fighters who appeared in the first two films include Tony Bellew, Andre Ward, Gabriel Rosado and Jacob Duran.
