The UFC’s quick return to London continues with the addition of a featherweight bout.
Charles Rose (14-7 MMA, 5-7 UFC) will travel to the UK from the States to fight London Nathaniel Wood (17-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC). Rosa’s management team at Iridium Sports announced the match on Thursday after an initial message from Al Zullino. The UFC has yet to officially announce the fight.
The UFC will return to London on July 23 at The O2. The card is expected to air on ESPN and air on ESPN+.
Rosa will be looking to get back on track after two losses to Ddamon Jackson and T.J. Brown. Before that, he alternated victories and defeats in 11 fights in a row, most of which occurred in the UFC. His most recent victory came in June 2021 by a split decision over Justin Jaynes.
The wood should also come back to normal. He will fight for the first time since losing a decision to Casey Kenny in Abu Dhabi in October 2020. The former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion led the UFC on a five-fight winning streak and won his first three fights in the promotion via submission. A third-round TKO loss to John Dodson in February 2020 ended an eight-game winning streak.
