October 3 – Nkunku and Guardiola deals are reportedly close to being finalized.
RB Leipzig duo Christopher Nkunku and Josko Guardiol are due to arrive at Chelsea next summer. Report from Athletic says Chelsea have offered Leipzig to pay Nkunka more than $60m under a release clause (which will take effect next summer) and wants a deal to bring the 24-year-old French international to Stamford Bridge next summer. The report says that Nkunku has already agreed to the deal, while our partners in the UK are Sky Sport I’m sure the high-scoring striker (who has already scored six goals in eight Bundesliga games this season) has yet to be decided.
Nkunku scored 20 goals last season and added 13 assists to become the Bundesliga’s top player of the season. His qualities are undeniable and he would be the perfect complement to Chelsea’s flexible attacking system under Potter. Learning Nkunku from Aubameyang, one of the most prolific strikers in the game, is undoubtedly a recipe for success. With the signings of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku this summer, it’s clear that Chelsea are looking to freshen up their attack and that could also mean the likes of Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech could be redundant.
At the other end of the field, a report from Daily Telegraph suggests Chelsea are also looking to strike a deal to sign Leipzig’s Croatian centre-back Guardiol. According to the report, Guardiol has a release clause close to $45 million and Chelsea are ready to fulfill it. The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the top center-back prospects in Europe and has been hunted by Chelsea this summer, among many others. With Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly signed in the summer, Chelsea already have extensive and quality options at centre-back. However, Coulibaly did not play in either of the two Graham Potter games, as 38-year-old Thiago Silva was favored. Guardiol and Fofana are considered Chelsea’s permanent centre-back duo. (Japan)
Aug 31 – Chelsea offer $50m for Mexican Alvarez.
History from the Netherlands says Chelsea stirred up the Ajax camp by offering $50 million for Mexico star Edson Alvarez.
The report said Newcastle and Rennes had called Alvarez but Ajax didn’t want to move, but this offer from Chelsea seriously turned the player’s head.
The 24-year-old Alvarez operates as a central defensive midfielder, but he is not one-dimensional and has spent little time in the center of defense and is also a bit more advanced.
He has been a regular starter and would like to get regular playing time ahead of the World Cup. Chelsea can provide some injury data and a busy schedule. (New Mexico)
August 31 – Aubameyang – to Chelsea, Alonso – to Barcelona.
Chelsea and Barcelona are in talks over deals for 33-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and 31-year-old Marco Alonso, according to Fabrizio Romano. Aubameyang faces additional medical examinations after attackers broke his jaw at his home in Barcelona earlier this week. , while Alonso agreed personal terms with Barça many months ago and has been waiting for the two clubs to agree on a fee in a separate deal. (Japan)
Update by Pierre Aubameyang. The two clubs are in direct contact today as they want to reach an agreement in the coming hours – they have been told that Marcos Alonso is being discussed again as part of a deal. 🚨🔵 #CFC

Aug 31 – Chelsea complete Fofana deal.
It’s officially official as Wesley Fofana signed for Chelsea for a transfer fee said to be around $80 million. Fofana, 21, has signed a seven-year deal with Chelsea and the signing is a huge boost for Thomas Tuchel, who saw his team lose 2-1 at Southampton on Tuesday. With the arrival of Fofana, Chelsea’s costs will exceed $290m this summer as he joins Raheem Sterling, Kalid Koulibaly and Mark Cucurella in signing with the Blues. Fofana will raise the level of Chelsea’s defense and will likely join Thiago Silva and Koulibaly. His ability to get the ball off his back and launch attacks will be critical to bringing Chelsea to the fore in Tuchel’s preferred 3-4-2-1 system. (Japan)

Aug 29 – Brocha, Gallagher offered to Everton as part of Gordon’s deal.
Report from Football insider claims Chelsea offered Conor Gallagher and Armando Brocha plus $30m for Anthony Gordon. The 21-year-old winger scored for the Toffees in their 1-1 draw at Brentford over the weekend and showed off his excellent half-time pace and incredible work capacity. Gallagher and Brocha have worked so hard on loan over the years, but it doesn’t look like they’ll become Chelsea regulars under Thomas Tuchel. They could definitely be Everton stars and if the Toffees get the duo (on a permanent or loan basis) plus a decent amount of money for Gordon, that would be a very good deal for them. Gordon is good, but Frank Lampard and the Everton board have to rip off Chelsea’s hand. (Japan)
August 29 – Fofana in the US for treatment.
Wesley Fofana, 21, is reportedly in the US for treatment at Chelsea as his transfer from Leicester City draws near. The Athletic reports Fofana flew to the US on Sunday as Chelsea co-owner Todd Boli demanded more checks after Fofana broke his leg early last season. Chelsea and Fofana are believed to have agreed terms on a six-year deal, as the Leicester transfer fee could rise to almost $88m. (Japan)
🚨 EXCL: Chelsea sent Wesley Fofan to the US for treatment. Arrived yesterday – the owners decided for peace of mind. Aug 29 – Callum Hudson-Odoi joins Bayer Leverkusen.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is heading to Germany as the England international joins Bayer Leverkusen on loan, according to our partners in the UK at Sky Sports. Hudson-Odoi, 21, has struggled to get into Thomas Tuchel’s plans this season and his career has been stalled by injuries and lack of form over the past 12 months. The cunning winger is hoping that playing regularly for Leverkusen, who play in the UEFA Champions League, will return him to the best results and help to establish himself in the England squad ahead of the World Cup this summer. After linking up with Newcastle, Leicester and Southampton, it’s a good move for the CHO and he will be a key player for Bayer in the Bundesliga. (Japan)
Aug 29 – Chelsea and Arsenal enter battle for Zaha at the very end of the window.
Report from Guardian says Chelsea have renewed interest in Wilfried Zaha as the Crystal Palace winger has less than a year left on his current deal. Zaha, 29, has been linked to Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal multiple times over the years. Independent says his agent is pushing for a move to Chelsea. The Guardian reports that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still Chelsea’s top target, but Zaha is another option.
Zaha is probably the best player in the Premier League outside of the top six. His brief stint at Manchester United as a youth didn’t work out, but he consistently performed admirably for Palace and the South London club would be devastated if they lost him. However, he has less than a year left on his contract, so if they’re going to get something for him, now is the time. Palace previously wanted $90 million for Zaha, which is understandable considering he is the center of their attack and one of the main reasons they have consistently remained in the Premier League for the past eight seasons.
