After he won his second ONE title, Christian Lee wants to go after the best in the UFC.

Now a two-time champion, Lee wants to challenge himself by taking on the dominant UFC lightweight champion. Islam Makhachev (23-1).

“I saw a recent video in which another UFC participant, Islam Makhachev, called me,” Lee said at a post-fight press conference. “He invites me to the UFC to fight him for his lightweight title. I would like this fight to take place. Let’s see it. Let’s do a cross promotion: UFC World Lightweight Champion vs. ONE Championship World Lightweight Champion. Let’s see who’s really the best lightweight in the world.”

Lee plans to return to lightweight for his next title defense, but if he’s thinking outside the box, he loves fighting Makhachev.

“Now I am the world lightweight champion (and) the world welterweight champion. I want to fight the best of the best,” Lee said. “So whoever it is. … The potential crossover between UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev is certainly an exciting fight. But let’s see where it goes. I keep my options open and do everything I can to challenge myself.”
