Coaches Poll top 25: Oklahoma plummets after upset, Florida State arrives in college football rankings

Oklahoma is down 10 places in the latest coaches’ poll released Sunday after a 41-34 home loss to Kansas State, in which the Sooners were favorites with 13.5 points. However, despite improving to 3-1 after the win, the Wildcats failed to enter the poll after an upset. The Wildcats weren’t the only Big 12 team that Coaches Poll voters condemned. Kansas was also sidelined after improving to 4-0 with a 35-27 victory over the previously undefeated Duke.

It was the best week for the ACC in the rankings as Florida State finished 22nd for the first time this season after improving to 4-0 and beating Boston College 44-14. The Seminoles host No. 21 Wake Forest this week as the Demons Deacons look to bounce back from a crushing 51-45 overtime loss against No. 5 Clemson on Saturday.

The Tigers will also be in a huge ACC showdown in Week 5 as they take 10th in NC State after the Wolf Pack improved to 4-0 and moved up one spot from 41-10 over UConn. Syracuse also entered the poll in 25th place after beating Virginia, and Pittsburgh was ranked 24th again after beating Rhode Island, giving the ACC six ranked teams.
