For the 2022 season, the NFL will give you the headsets worn by NFL coaches.
Without Bose, there will be no one else. And no one else will be until 2023, at the earliest.
A source familiar with the situation tells PFT that the presence of the NFL logo on the headphone for coaches during Thursday night’s Hall of Fame game will last until Super Bowl LVII.
Numerous discussions are currently underway for 2023, according to a PFT source. About six months ago, the league made a conscious decision to take the time to make the right decision about the headset logo. Ultimately, a headset sign may represent something more innovative than just a headset company or otherwise providing telecommunications services.
Earlier this year, Terry Lefton of Sports Business Journal explained that, according to Navigate Research, the headset is seen on average for approximately eight minutes per game.
Prior to the deal with Bose, the league used the NFL logo on headsets in 2013, following the expiration of a sponsorship deal with Motorola. This time the league decided to use a thinner grey/black logo which is better mixtures with a black headset rather than the usual red, white and blue NFL shield.
