College football is made special by its various storied rivalries. From the “Iron Bowl” between Alabama and Auburn to “The Game” between Michigan and Ohio State, rivalry games tend to be the most heated and eventful contests on the schedule each season.

Yet, there are some rivalries that have fallen to the wayside in recent memory. This list aims to identify those rivalries that have are victims of time that need a revival. A common thread among these entries is that a lot of rivalries were ruined by a wave of conference splits and schisms in the 1990s and 2000s. While inter-conference scheduling is difficult, it is not impossible.
