News: Sportzshala’s Adam Schefter reported that Patriots quarterback Mack Jones is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

What does fantasy mean? On Monday, Jones will undergo an MRI to confirm the diagnosis and determine the severity of the injury. Jones has been injured while playing twice in the last three weeks. During the Patriots’ season opener against the Dolphins, he suffered a back spasm. However, Sunday’s injury seems more serious. Brian Hoyer will most likely start Week 4 against the Packers. He’s not on the fantasy radar for managers. He lost 11 straight starts, the longest active streak in the league. The Packers’ defense will be in the spotlight in week four.

Let’s go deeper: The Ravens pressured Jones with the third highest rate of his career. Two of his four highest blood pressures came in the last two weeks.

News: Vikings RB Dalvin Cook made 17 rushes for 96 yards and a touchdown before being ruled out against the Lions with a dislocated shoulder.

What does fantasy mean? Cook has had shoulder problems since his days at Florida State University. The Vikings are hoping Cook can play in gear this week, but fantasy managers are likely looking at Cook as a solution during Week 4 play. The Vikings will take on the Saints at 9:30 am ET in London. , so you’ll want to check inactive ones earlier than usual. In case Cook misses time, Alexander Mattison will be in line for every loser.

News: Bears RB David Montgomery walked out in the first quarter against the Texans after being hit during a pass block.

What does fantasy mean? Montgomery left the field under his own power. He had 11 yards on three tries before being ruled out with an ankle/knee injury. Khalil Herbert filled in the gap for the Bears, finishing with 157 yards and two touchdowns. The last Bears player to accomplish a similar feat was Montgomery himself back in week 15 of the 2020 season against the Minnesota Vikings. Montgomery’s status is unknown, but this unfortunate news puts Herbert out of the fantasy realm.

Let’s go deeper: While Montgomery was out last season, Herbert averaged 23.3 innings (powerful attempts plus goals) and 15.4 fantasy points per game while playing 83% of attacking snaps in three starts.

News: Chargers QB Justin Herbert completed 25 of 45 passes for 297 yards, throwing a touchdown and an interception against the Jaguars.

What does fantasy mean? One burning question before Sunday’s game was whether Herbert would be actively involved in the game after breaking his costal cartilage on September 15th. If so, how long will he play? Herbert exceeded all expectations on both occasions and played the entire game. He survived the game without any further injury, which is great news. Herbert can be seen as a high-end QB1 against the Texans in Week 4.

News: Patriots RB Ramondre Stevenson scored 101 yards on 16 touchdowns against the Ravens.

What does fantasy mean? Stevenson led the backfield in snaps and touches, demonstrating his versatility as both a run and a receiver. Stevenson and Damien Harris will continue to work together behind Patriot lines, but Stevenson’s performance in this game has shown that he deserves more attention. Going forward, fantasy managers might consider it a budget RB2.

News: Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson posted a career-high 141 yards and one touchdown against the Seahawks.

What does fantasy mean? Patterson now has two games with 100 or more yards in the first three games of the Falcons’ season. He is the first Atlanta player to do so since Michael Turner in 2011. Although Patterson has a clear lead on the Falcons’ rear committee, rookie Tyler Algeier was also involved, playing 21 snaps to Patterson’s 35. Atlanta will have to decide how to manage the workload on the 31-year-old Patterson going forward, so Allgayer, who is still available in 81.4% of Sportzshala leagues, could see more touches as the season progresses. While Patterson can still be considered a budget RB2, fantasy managers would be wise to stash Algaier as well.

Let’s go deeper: Allgeier has the potential to be a league winner if presented with an opportunity based on his student output. In his last two seasons at BYU, Algeier rushed for 2,731 yards and threw for 36 touchdowns.

News: Chargers RB Austin Eckeler finished Sunday’s game against the Jaguars with 12 touches and 53 yards.

What does fantasy mean? Ekeler is averaging 27 yards per game. The Chargers give him fewer rush attempts and continue to involve Sonja Michelle and Joshua Kelly. Ekeler has a stranglehold on goals in the outfield but hasn’t seen much work on the goal line. As a result, his options are limited. It’s amazing how little Ekeler has been used this season. He has a chance to bounce back from the Texans in week 4.

Let’s go deeper: Ekeler, Brice Hall and Javonte Williams are the only runners with 20 or more goals this season.

News: Buccaneers WR Russell Gage caught 12 of 13 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown against the Packers.

What does fantasy mean? This performance showed Gage’s potential in attacking pirates. With many receivers left out of the game, he led Tampa Bay in every major receiving category. Gage also had a high reception career as he excelled at the slot. Gage’s performance on Sunday will help build chemistry and trust with Tom Brady. Even when the other receiving Buccaneers return, he will be in the passing game. Gage can be seen as a flexible option in deeper formats.

News: Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught five of eight targets for 87 yards against the Seahawks.

What does fantasy mean? Coach Arthur Smith said earlier this week that the Falcons would win when Pitts had a breakout game. In his first two games, Pitts gained 38 receiving yards, and on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, he led the Falcons’ receiving body, averaging 17.4 receiving yards. Despite Pitts leading the Falcons in snaps and trail runs, Parker Hesse was more involved despite not being targeted. Pitts can still be seen as a high-end TE1 against the Browns in Week 4.

Let’s go deeper: Pitts’ fantasy production may be more volatile than managers had hoped. The Falcons are in 31st place with 26.3 pass attempts per game.

News: WR commanders Curtis Samuel caught seven of 10 targets for 48 yards against the Eagles.

What does fantasy mean? Samuel led the target commanders and made three attempts to rush for 13 yards. QB Carson Wentz and the Washington offense were thwarted by the swarming Eagles defense as Wentz was sacked nine times and rushed 17 times. Samuel has averaged 18.4 fantasy points per game this season and is still available in 17.5% of Sportzshala leagues. It starts every week.

Let’s go deeper: Samuel leads the commanders with 30 targets in three games. Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner is actively engaging him in his weekly game plan, lining him up in the outfield, in the slot and in the outfield. Samuel also benefits from Turner’s use of movement, game action, and screens. In three Washington games this season, Samuel has been targeted more than Terry McLaurin.

News: Jaguars RB James Robinson finished with 116 yards in 20 touches against the Chargers.

What does fantasy mean? Robinson also recorded his 18th career rushing touchdown on a 50-yard run in his 31st career game. The only undrafted (NFL team) player to record more rushing touchdowns in his first 35 games since 1950 is Arian Foster. Robinson, RB32 in our draft trends this summer, has looked great this season so far, pulling away from a torn Achilles. He continues to chair the Jaguars’ running back committee, which also includes 2021 first-round draft pick Travis Etienne. Fantasy managers might see Robinson as a weak RB2 against the Eagles’ dynamic offense in Week 4.

Let’s go deeper: Robinson averaged 19.0 touches and 18.7 fantasy points in the first three games of the season.

News: Rams RB Cam Akers ran for 61 yards and one touchdown 12 times against the Cardinals.

What does fantasy mean? After playing sparingly in the first two games of the season, Akers finally showed what he first showed us in his rookie year. Rams coach Sean McVeigh said the third-year running back needs to be more assertive, and that’s exactly what Akers did against the Cardinals. Darrell Henderson Jr. had four sprint attempts compared to Akers’ 12, while Henderson ran more routes than Akers off the field but only hit the target once.
