News: Sportzshala’s Adam Schefter reported that Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown was arrested for speeding on Wednesday morning.

What does fantasy mean? Due to a hamstring injury, Brown was placed on the active non-football injury list the day before the start of training camp last Wednesday. In terms of fiction, Brown is wasting precious time to reconnect with his former college quarterback and is unlikely to face any league disciplinary action for his criminal speeding charges.

News: The Patriots don’t have a clear timeline for the return of running back James White.

What does fantasy mean? White is recovering from hip surgery and could start the season at PUP. In White’s absence, Ramondre Stevenson may have seen more touches as he worked from the third down position in training. During his career with the Patriots, White averaged 5.4 goals per game. Stevenson is currently the RB36 in our current drafting trends and could exceed expectations.

News: Sportzshala’s Adam Schefter reported that the NFL has decided to appeal Deshawn Watson’s six-game suspension.

What does it mean: Indefinite suspension was the goal of the NFL, for a minimum of one year. Watson will reportedly sue the NFL if he is suspended for the entire season. Currently, Roger Goodell controls the length of the suspension. Whether he hears the appeal or appoints a representative is up to him.

News: Sportzshala’s Adam Teicher reported that running back Isaiah Pacheco had a great training camp.

What does fantasy mean? Pacheco has been compared to Karim Hunt, who averaged 20.3 touches and 18.4 fantasy points per game during his rookie season with the Chiefs in 2017. The backfield of the Chiefs is crowded, but the competition is wide open. Pre-season games will determine Pacheco’s relevance to fantasy as we get closer to week one, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on him.

Let’s go deeper: Pacheco finished his collegiate career at Rutgers ranked sixth in school history with 563 rush attempts, seventh with 2,442 yards, and 11th with 3,039 yards. It’s important to have the right expectations, but Chiefs have been known to find rough diamonds.
