Danes make history with Tour de France Grand Depart

HISTORY: The race will start with a 13km Individual Time Trial in Copenhagen, followed by a second stage peloton crossing the 18km Great Belt Bridge. On the third and final stage in Denmark, riders will cover 182 km between Vejle and Sonderborg.

The excitement in Copenhagen, a city where cycling is very popular, is great and Denmark will be the 10th country to host the Grand Departure of the Tour de France.

“I think it will be very, very cool,” said cycling fan Max Hellen-Hegelund.

“There will be great weather, it will be great that the Tour de France is finally coming to Copenhagen and of course the rest of Denmark.”

The 109th race will continue in France and end in Paris on July 24th.
