Iowa State offered Des Moines (Iowa) North defensive lineman David Caulker during his Wednesday visit to Ames.
The Cyclones join Missouri and Northern Iowa on the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Caulker’s offer list. Somewhat under the radar until now, he is just starting to catch the attention of more programs..
“Life has been crazy but I still have to stay focused,” he said. “A lot of people get a big head when things like this happen and I’ve just got to remember to stay humble and keep working because it is only the start.”
During his visit, Caulker had a good opportunity to meet with the coaching staff including head coach Matt Campbell.
“Coach Campbell is an amazing individual and what he was saying to me deeply touched me, so I appreciated him having me come up to talk to him instead of over the phone.”
The cyclones now become a real contender in this race all the Caulker is trying to not rush it.
“Iowa State is in serious consideration,” he said. “Right now I still want to give it some time to make a decision.”
He does have plans to come back to campus as well.
“I want to take an official visit on Friday, June 10th and as far as camps, I’m considering going to against the best in the country compete.”
247Sports rates Caulker a three-star prospect and ranks him the No. 12 senior to be in the stage of Iowa.
