Seahawks Wide Receiver DK Metcalfe agreed to a three-year contract extension yesterday, but before he got the deal he wanted, he tried to make the Seattle front office sweat.

Metcalfe admitted that he was bluffing with Seahawks general manager John Schneider, trying to make him think that if he didn’t get the contract he wanted, he would want to leave as a free agent next year.

“No matter how much I bluffed John, I was not going to leave,” Metcalfe said.

Given that Metcalfe is 24 years old and only signed for three years, he is likely to be back at the negotiating table with the Seahawks in the not-too-distant future. Then he may regret not confessing to the bluff.
