The Philadelphia Union had to leave the dog on the field.
In the 68th minute of the Philadelphia Union’s CONCACAF game against Alianza on Tuesday evening, a dog jumped out on the field of Cuscatlán Stadium in El Salvador and ran onto the field. The match stopped, but the dog knew exactly what to do.
He ran straight for the ball.
The referee quickly ran up, picked up the dog and took it off the field so that the game could continue. The dog didn’t seem to care, either, and he was obviously very proud of himself.
Because he just wanted to play.
Union and Alliance drew 0-0 in the first match. They will meet again next week in Philadelphia where, if we’re lucky, another good boy will try to take part in the action.
