Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa recently got married. It looks like it’s something he’d rather the world not find out.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Tagovailoa confirmed that he had recently married Anna Gore and indicated that he intended to keep that part of his personal life under wraps until news leaked out.
Tagovailoa at the wedding:
“It was a special event. I don’t know who ended up leaking it, but he must have been waiting outside the courthouse for a whole week or so.
“As for me, I like to keep my life as private as possible and that’s what we tried to do, me, my wife and my family. But obviously this is not the case in this world. It’s almost disrespectful, if you will. But it is what it is, and damn it, I can’t do anything about it. Guys, I have a wife.
The news was first reported by Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater on Tuesday, who cited a rare “sacred source” to reveal the wedding.
Working with the news is just part of an important training camp for Tagovaila, who is expected to lead the Dolphins’ revamped offense under new head coach Mike McDaniel, along with expensive wide receiver Tyreke Hill.
Tagovailoa said his marriage did little to change his outlook on life and football, with one fairly obvious exception in training camp: “There are no girls for me.”
