On Friday, the Dolphins exchanged players.
Hofrichter was drafted by the Falcons in the seventh round in 2020 and has averaged 42.5 yards per strike in his rookie season. It was abandoned last summer and landed with the pirates. He spent most of the year on the practice team, but played two games and averaged 37.8 yards on six hits.
Dolphins signed Thomas Morstead in April. The longtime Saints player split between the Jets and Falcons last season and will compete with Hofrichter for a job in Miami this year.
