Veteran cornerback Malcolm Butler will return to the NFL.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Dolphins invited Butler to practice today.
The Patriots placed Butler on injury reserve for the preseason, which usually means the player won’t play at all that year, but they later released him with injury compensation, meaning he could sign elsewhere.
Allegedly, he is now medically cleared and is looking for a team that wants to play with him.
Butler has not played since 2020, when he started all 16 games for the Titans. He signed with the Cardinals in 2021 but announced his retirement before the start of the season. He then announced his non-retirement this year and signed with the Patriots.
