Everyone has their own preferences, but the general vibe was that it was a three-man first-caliber draft and there wasn’t much separation. And in conversations with college coaches after the draft, this opinion remained. Some felt that Banchero was the right No. 1 choice, some felt that Smith should have stayed at No. 1 as expected, and some felt that Holmgren’s uniqueness and ceiling were too big to miss at the top.
