Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL’s chief medical officer, explained to NFL Media’s Judy Battista that Tua was seen by doctors on numerous occasions in the days after the game.

“Absolutely,” Sills said of whether Tua was tested even after he was acquitted. “I know he was checked after the game. I know he was checked the next day. In fact, every player who passes the examination on the day of the game receives an additional examination the next day, even if this examination was negative. It’s part of our concussion protocol. And then I know that this player was checked every day before the game.

While it doesn’t matter if he was supposed to return to play on Sunday, it’s clear that the doctors made seeing Tua their priority between Sunday and Thursday.
