Dustin Poirier has opened up as the clear favorite against Michael Chandler in a proposed lightweight bout expected to take place at UFC 281 in November.
According to the bookmakers DraftKingsPoirier opened as a -155 favorite and Chandler is currently a +135 underdog.
This means that, based on current odds, it would take a $155 bet to return $100 if Poirier wins, while a $100 bet on Chandler will return $135 if he wins.
The obv odds can change depending on betting behavior, which is what happened at another bookmaker after Poirier vs. Chandler was first rumored to circulate.
AT BetOnline.ag, Poirier opened with a -150 favorite but the odds were largely in his favor and he now sits with a -180 favorite over Chandler. In this situation, it would take a $180 wager to get the $100 back if Poirier gets the job done in the fight.
Assuming the match is over, Poirier is looking to get back on the winning column after losing to Charles Oliveira in his last UFC outing last December.
That night, Poirier was defeated by Oliveira via rear naked choke submission in the third round, snapping a three-win streak, including a pair of victories over Conor McGregor.
As for Chandler, he arguably scored the biggest knockout of 2022 when he defeated Tony Ferguson with a forward kick at UFC 274 in May. A year of performing with Justin Gaethje.
