Embery-Simpson scores 20, Tulsa beats Jackson State 85-79

TULSA, Oklahoma (AP) Keishon Embery-Simpson scored 20 points off the bench to lead Tulsa over Jackson State 85-79 on Saturday.

Embery-Simpson added six assists for the Golden Hurricane (1-1). Tim Dalger added 18 points with 5 of 6 from the floor, including 2 of 3 from range and 6 of 6 from the line, and they also had nine rebounds. Bryant Celebang finished 7 of 9 from the floor, scoring 15 points and adding 10 rebounds.

Trace Young led the Tigers (2-0) with 16 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Ken Evans added 15 points and two steals for Jackson State.

Embery-Simpson scored 10 points in the first half for Tulsa, who led 37-34 at halftime. Dalger led Tulsa with 11 points in the second half as the team led Jackson State by three points in the last half.
