After losing 2-0 to Germany, England managed to bounce back before taking the lead, but Kai Havertz scored his second goal of the evening to secure his share of the trophy. Telegraph Sport set a rule on Gareth Southgate’s starting line-up after draw 3-3 at Wembley.

Nick Pope

Was forced to make a mistake when Jamal Musiala closed it and was forced to go through another gap as Germany hoped to make it go long. No chance with goals and Kai Havertz was to blame for the second. 5/10

A terrible mistake is to give the ball to Musiale and convert a penalty. Then lost the ball for Havertz’s first goal. Has previously faced whoops, but fans have also chanted his name as he blocked chances and cleared. 4/10

Rhys James

Always in the game as an outlet for his teammates when they tried to play off defense. In the second half, he entered the game more and made crosses. 7/10

Declan Rice

Winning possession in dangerous areas to set up transitions and then as the game went on he moved his team forward more after the initial job was mostly defensive. 8/10

Jude Bellingham

He was competently fouled by German players when he tried to go into space. Then he made room for himself. There was a threat of a goal when the ball fell to him on the edge of the penalty area, after which he won a penalty. 8/10

Luke Shaw

A great pass to Sterling in the first half behind the German defense showed what he was capable of going forward and then ended the game well to put England back in the game. 7/10

Raheem Sterling

The threat to England’s primary objective went beyond the German defenses and saved a one-on-one exit. Signs that his teammates are starting to understand his attacks again. 7/10

Harry Kane

Confidently converted a penalty. Fell in the second minute, clutching his ankle. He continued, but Southgate would count on him to stay in shape as long as the attacks went through the captain. 7/10

Phil Foden

After missing England goals for so long in open play, he started to team up with his teammates and his timing was wrong but he has to hope it works out in Qatar. 5/10
