GREEN BAY, Wisconsin. The Green Bay Packers open the 2022 regular season against the Minnesota Vikings on September 11 at US Bank Stadium.
The Packers are bringing back much of the same group that went 13-4 last season before losing in the NFC Divisional Playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers, with one notable exception: All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.
One player most likely won’t be able to replicate Adams’ work, and there’s no clear #1 on the list. However, there will be plenty of opportunities. As seasoned wide receiver Randall Cobb said, “Now there are 150 more targets to be spread out.” Which players showcase playmaking potential in training camp and preseason will determine how many of them GM Brian Gutekunst will keep on the 53-man roster.
DEFENDER (2): Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love
This is a critical year for Love. He needs a strong preseason and needs to play better in the regular season than last year so the Packers will either be convinced he can eventually replace Rodgers or convince another team to trade him for him next offseason.
